Simpluris: who it is and how to check a notice that names it
Updated · Sources
Simpluris is a real company, Simpluris, Inc., a settlement administrator in Costa Mesa, California that courts appoint to mail class action notices and pay claims, and that is one of five refund contractors named by the FTC Federal Trade Commissionchecked October 1, 2026. Its case mail goes to post office boxes in another city and its emails come from each case's own address, which puzzles people, so this page shows what Simpluris's real paperwork looks like and how to match yours against its own records and the court file.

What its real notices and claim pages carry
The clearest picture of a Simpluris notice comes from the templates it files in court before a mailing goes out. In the Lee Enterprises data case in Iowa, the postcard Simpluris filed with the court opens with the line "A court has authorized this notice. This is not a solicitation from a lawyer." and carries a QR code that leads to the case website. Its tear-off claim card prints the class member's own codes, and the claim form tells the class member to claim online with a Login ID and PIN U.S. District Court, S.D. Iowachecked October 1, 2026.
Mail for that case goes to a case post office box, not to the head office: the postcard's return address is "c/o Settlement Administrator" at P.O. Box 25226, Santa Ana, CA 92799 U.S. District Court, S.D. Iowachecked October 1, 2026. The return address names the "Settlement Administrator", not Simpluris. Each case website, phone line and email address sits on a domain made for that one case, and the footers of the two case websites we read credit Simpluris (Lee Enterprises settlement website (home); Belle Tire settlement website (home)).
Email notices follow the same pattern. The court-filed email notice in the Belle Tire data breach case in Michigan was sent from noreply@BelleTireDataIncident.com (a case domain, not simpluris.com) U.S. District Court, E.D. Mich.checked October 1, 2026.
On payment, the Lee claim card asks the class member to pick one of PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, a virtual prepaid card or a check U.S. District Court, S.D. Iowachecked October 1, 2026, and asks for a legible email address for the digital choices. The Belle Tire claim form adds a condition: digital payment only when the claim is filed on the settlement website U.S. District Court, E.D. Mich.checked October 1, 2026.
After payment, Simpluris sends tax paperwork in some cases. Its own site lists Forms 1099, 1042-S, W-2 and corrected forms; paper copies by mail unless the person consents to electronic delivery Simpluris, Inc.checked October 1, 2026.
The CVS digital privacy settlement covered on this site is also administered by Simpluris; its dates and official website are on our CVS settlement page.
Why people doubt a Simpluris notice
The email did not come from Simpluris's own domain. As the Belle Tire exhibit shows, the sender address belongs to the case, not to the company. That surprises people who expect a company to email from its own name, but it is how the court-filed sample was built.
Two different California cities. Simpluris's corporate office, as a sworn declaration gives it, is 3194-C Airport Loop Dr., Costa Mesa, CA 92626 U.S. District Court, E.D. Mich.checked October 1, 2026. Case mail and its general lookup page use post office boxes in Santa Ana: P.O. Box 26170, Santa Ana, CA 92799 Simpluris, Inc.checked October 1, 2026 on the lookup page, and a different box on the Lee postcard. Both cities appear in Simpluris's own filings and pages.
A second company name. The credit monitoring offered in the Lee settlement is a product of CyEx, and a person who expected only Simpluris may stop there. A release on Simpluris's site dated January 13, 2026 Simpluris, Inc., press releasechecked October 1, 2026 describes CyEx and Simpluris as part of Point Wild's legal services, with one chief executive for both.
The case search came up empty. When we tested the search on , the terms "lee enterprises," "belle tire" and "fetes" returned no case, although the Lee Enterprises case (its first-named plaintiff is Fetes) and the Belle Tire case are current Simpluris cases. Of the entries the search returned, only 2 of at least 1,120 link to a case website.
How to check a notice against Simpluris's own records
- On the notice, find the case name, the court, the case number, the case website and the phone number. Write them down before you click or call anything.
- Open Simpluris's case search (Case Search) by typing its address yourself. The page says Search by case name or defendant name: try the defendant's name first, then a short word from the case name.
- If the case appears, open its entry. Some entries link court papers kept on a document server under Simpluris's own domain; compare the case name and number with your notice.
- If it does not appear, do not stop there; given the gaps described above, absence from this search shows nothing either way. Go to the court record instead: our case lookup guide shows how to find the docket. The order granting preliminary approval names the administrator; in the Bailey v. Block case, for example, the court's order appointed Simpluris (Order, Bailey v. Block, Inc., Doc. 44 (September 28, 2026): preliminary approval, Simpluris appointed).
- To ask Simpluris directly, use the contacts on its own lookup page: 888.369.3780 or CaseSupport@Simpluris.com, not a number or link taken from the message you received.
- Compare the website address in the court-approved notice with the one in your letter or email, letter by letter.
Documented incidents and fact-checks
No court filing, state attorney general warning, federal agency notice or published fact-check describing a fake Simpluris notice turned up in the records read for this page on . Absence from those records does not show that no such notice exists.
The "Security Reporting" link in the footer of Simpluris's site is a page for reporting software vulnerabilities to the company (Security and Vulnerability Reporting (updated 11-13-2023)). It is not a guide to recognizing its notices, and Simpluris publishes no such guide that we could find.
Simpluris's own figures for how many cases it has handled change from one filing to the next, and this site cannot check them, so this page does not repeat them.
What it does not ask for, as far as its own pages state
We found no Simpluris page listing what it will never ask a class member for. Its documents show only this much: the online claim uses the login details printed on your notice; a digital payment is chosen by you on the claim; and tax forms arrive by mail unless you agree to electronic delivery on its consent page (Consent to Electronic Delivery of Tax Documents). Requests that fall outside that pattern deserve a check against the warning signs listed on our page on telling whether a settlement notice is real.
