JND Legal Administration: how to trace a notice to its court

Updated · Sources

JND Legal Administration is a real company, JND Legal Administration LLC, founded in early 2016 and headquartered in Seattle, Washington; courts appoint it to run notices, claims and payments in class actions, and the Federal Trade Commission lists it on active refund programs such as the AT&T Data Throttling Refunds of August 2026 Federal Trade Commissionchecked October 1, 2026. Each JND case has its own Seattle post office box, website and phone line, so this page explains how JND's case paperwork is built and how to trace yours back to the court that appointed it.

What its real case mail, websites and claim portals carry

Each JND case gets its own website on its own domain, with a phone line and an email address to match. JND says it sets up “a toll-free number for each project” JND Legal Administrationchecked October 1, 2026, and that all of its call center work is done in the United States (Class Action Administration). On the Hyundai and Kia airbag case, for instance, the published email is HKinfo@ACUSettlement.com Hyundai-Kia Airbag Control Unit Settlement websitechecked October 1, 2026. That settlement is covered on our Hyundai and Kia airbag page.

The return address is where JND's mail differs most from what people expect. Each case uses its own post office box in Seattle, addressed "c/o JND Legal Administration." Three that we read on case websites:

None of these is the box JND gives for privacy requests, JND Legal Administration, Privacy, PO Box 91352, Seattle, WA 98111. A box number that differs from one you found online is therefore normal for JND; the number that counts is the one printed in the court-approved notice for your case.

Claim portals sit on a "secure" subdomain of the case's own domain, and the login code goes by different names. The real estate commission website, for example, refers to a Unique ID and a PIN Residential Real Estate Broker Commissions Antitrust Settlements websitechecked October 1, 2026 printed on the notice.

For payments, the clearest example is the Blue Cross Blue Shield subscribers case. Its official website says prepaid card recipients get an email from distribution@BCBSsettlement.com Blue Cross Blue Shield Subscribers Settlement websitechecked October 1, 2026 and redeem the card at settlementpayment.choicepaymenthub.com. That is one case's vendor; JND does not say it uses the same one elsewhere. JND also says it issues tax statements, W-2s and 1099s JND Legal Administrationchecked October 1, 2026, to class members when a settlement requires them.

Why people doubt a JND notice

The letter comes from a P.O. box, not an office. JND's own website gives no street address for its headquarters in the pages we read, so the only Seattle address many people can find is a box number that does not match theirs.

The website does not mention JND. Case sites are named after the case, and JND's name may appear only in the mailing address at the foot of the page. One case on JND's own list, the Honda HandsfreeLink case listed as Project Code: AHF JND Legal Administrationchecked October 1, 2026, sends visitors from its case address to a page on a different domain whose contact page gives a "Claims Settlement Administrator" and a P.O. box in Torrance, California, with no company name.

A payment email from a company they never heard of. In the Blue Cross Blue Shield case, as shown above, the card email and the redemption site sit on two domains, neither of them JND's.

A different company name in the background. JND has belonged to Sedgwick, a claims-services company, since December 2021 JND Legal Administrationchecked October 1, 2026, and the same JND website also sells eDiscovery services.

Headlines about court disputes. The court supervising the real estate commission settlements has ordered audits of JND's billing, and JND is a defendant in a separate federal case about settlement payments; both are described below. Neither is about fake notices.

How to check a notice against JND's records and the court file

  1. From your notice, copy out four things: whose case it is (the case name), which court and case number, the website, and the P.O. box.
  2. Open JND's case page (JND Cases (Selected Cases)) by typing JND's address yourself. It is headed "Selected Cases" and can be searched by case name, project code or keyword. It is a short selection, and only a few entries link to a case website, so a missing case tells you nothing.
  3. If your case is listed with a website link, compare that address with the one on your notice, letter by letter.
  4. If it is not listed, go to the court record; our case lookup guide explains how. The order granting approval names the administrator. In the real estate commission case, the final approval order of May 9, 2024 records that the court appointed JND (Order granting final approval, Burnett v. National Association of Realtors, Doc. 1487 (filed May 9, 2024)).
  5. Compare the P.O. box and toll-free number on your envelope or email with the ones in the court-approved notice or on the case website.
  6. To reach JND itself, use the contacts on its own contact page: info@jndla.com; 800.207.7160. Use those rather than a phone number or link from the message itself.

Documented incidents and fact-checks

Searching on turned up no state attorney general warning, court filing or published fact-check about a fake notice in JND's name; an empty search is not proof that none exist.

What the record does contain is a long-running dispute over JND's fees in the real estate commission settlements before the federal court in the Western District of Missouri. The court has made no finding of wrongdoing in any document we read. In order:

Outside Missouri, JND appears as a defendant in MDL No. 3162 U.S. District Court, D.D.C., In re Class Action Settlement Administration Litigation, No. 1:25-mc-00179-JDB, Dkt. 143-1checked October 1, 2026, where former class members accuse several administrators of profiting from settlement money held for them (see the Epiq page for that docket). JND joined the administrators' joint motion to dismiss the complaint, filed July 17, 2026. Those accusations are unproven, and this page reports no ruling on the motion.

What JND's own pages say it asks for

JND publishes no page about recognizing its notices or about fraud on its home, about, contact, class action or privacy pages. Its case websites describe how payment arrives in each case, and say nothing more general. The requests that official sources say a real payer doesn't make are listed on our guide to checking a settlement notice.
